Lincoln's third week of life

Lincoln
I can't believe how big Lincoln is getting. He has gained almost a pound in three weeks. He officially has grown out of his preemie clothes, i almost cried, but he stll fits great in newborn. He can do things that most three month old babies are learning and we are so proud of him.

One Week appointment: Tall and skinny like his parents
Weight: 6lb11oz 13percentile
Length: 20.5 inches 78percentile
Head: 7percentile(small head, but little heads make babies sooo cute)

Two week appointment:
Weight: 7lbs 2oz
Length:20.5 inches

Three week appointment:
Weight: 7lbs 12oz (he grew a lot)
Length: 21 inches

Just a little about our little Lincoln:
Second day of life: Lincoln can hold up his head and look around for awhile.
Five days old: When on belly he can hold head up for a few minutes and look around
12 days: Rolls over from back to belly twice in a row
14 days: rolls over from back to belly three times in a row(we can't believe it either but he LOVES his belly that much)
8 days: holds bottle by himself
1 week: scoots up our chest by kicking his feet
3 weeks 1 day: mimicks clicking the tongue, did it repeatedly all day and today

Lincoln LOVES:
1. Bath time! He loves really hot water. I mean really hot, he takes as hot as baths as me. I think it was because I took hot baths when he was in the belly.
2. Holding things when he is eating. We have to hold his hands down because he grabs his face and scratches it. He also grabbed his hair the other day and I had to pry his hands away.
3. Being held..boy does he love being held. I can't set him down unless he is alseep or he grunts and squirms(the hospital made him scared of being set down)
4. His head cocked completly back, it helps with his acid reflux
5. Sleeping on my chest
6. Sleeping in mom and dads bed, yes we created a monster.
7. staring at lights
8. grunting ALL day long while sleeping, eating, sitting, and pretty much anything makes him grunt and complain about his hard life.
9. being outside, he gets really bored with our apartment so I have to take him for walks to get him occupied.

Lincoln loves to sleep with us. The doctor told us with his condition we should never sleep with him, and we are working on being good about that. He also has acid reflux so we have to have his bed at a 45 degree angle so he doesn't choke on his spit up.

Lincoln likes to sit in his swing and likes it when I push it really high and fast. However, he spits up when he swings so we are cutting back on swinging time. I love these pictures!!

The other day we went to the lake and Lincoln got all dressed up in his cute swimsuit and sunglasses.

Scott and Lincoln in the Lake. I can't go swimming yet, but in 3 weeks I can. I seriously can't wait to go running and get my belly back. I know I can't complain I lost all my pregnancy weight in less than two weeks, but my belly IS squishy. Anyways, I love these pictures.

More pictures of us at the Lake.

Lincoln has poor acid reflux and it is the saddest thing ever. He doesn't really spit up, but he arches his back and grunts a lot. I can tell he is in a lot of pain. We are lucky he doesn't cry but he does make sad faces and complain. He likes to hold his head back, if anything acid reflux has given him a really strong neck. I have to hold him a lot and constantly shift positions in worthless attempts to make him comfortable.

Lincoln's second week of life!

Lincoln has had quite the experience in his short life. He has been clear across the country, gone on an easter egg hunt, gone swimming, been in the hospital and was blessed.

At Two Weeks old:
Weight: 7lb 2oz
Length: 20.5 inches

Our Sick Little Boy

Lincoln has given us plenty to worry about since before he was born. Besides driving to North Carolina there has only been 1 day that Lincoln hasn't been in the hospital. Tuesday I went shopping with a bunch of my girlfriends. We were walking in the mall and one of my friends was holdng Lincoln. I happened to look over and saw that his face was dark blue. At first I thought it was a shadow, but I quickly saw that it was getting darker. I grabbed him and started to try and alert him. His entire body was blue. It took a minute before he got his color back and he was still purple blotchy over his entire body. He was completely out still even though he was breathing so we rubbed wetwipes over his body and did all we could to get him to come to(I am guessing he was passed out) about seven minutes later he would slowly open his eyes. I started bawling and called my doctor in Idaho. He told me to take Lincoln to an urgent care emediately. We did and he stopped breathing again twice while they were looking at him(he didn't turn blue though). They then ambulanced him to the emergency room where they began running EVERY test possible. I was able to control myself so I could stay by his side. They wouldn't let me feed him for seven hours and he screamed most of the time. He had 3 IV's and was given shot after shot. I can't even begin to explain how horrible I felt for my baby. Eventually we were given a room and I was allowed to feed him. Well the verdict is Lincoln has two problems with his heart. #1, his heart has a hole in it, but many people live completly normal lives with holes in their hearts. #2Lincoln's heart has an extra beat, but by seven months he should grow out of it. They kept us in the hospital tuesday-thursday and eventually there was nothing else they could do for him. He will be fine we just need to make sure he remembers to breath!!

Blessing Pictures

We blessed Lincoln Michael Roberts April 12, 2009. Scott blessed him and it was absolutely beautiful. I was really scared to go to church with a new baby but it was really nice to say goodbye to everyone.
