SO STRESSED!!!

Well I am freaking out! Remember the long post about how we were gonna live in a one-bedroom and save lots and lots of money by helping fix it up? Yea, well after a few weeks and several hours of hard work(for Scott) the apartment was not getting close to finishing. A week ago, after seeing no insulation in the walls or plumbing, we decided to let it go and start finding somewhere with heat to live.

With less than two weeks to find a place that is affordable, not in the ghetto and allows you to get out of the lease, things are looking grim. Rentals on the market at this time are scarce AND usually are filled a month before the previous tenant’s lease is up. With only two weeks we weren’t finding very many available nows.  I cannot tell you how many phone calls we BOTH have made. One would come on and literally 30 minutes later I would call and they would already have someone claiming it. We went and visited several and they were so ghetto I was worried the rotting ceiling would fall on us. Two that came with garages wouldn’t let you store stuff in the garage because there are too many break-ins. Another stated in the listing “Car vandalism and break-ins are frequent and so we highly recommend car-alarms”. Like WHAT IN THE HECK?!?! We were not even being picky. We even increased our price to more than what we are paying now, and still we are begging people. One place wouldn’t rent to us because we have kids!

We finally found a place and the lady isn’t sure that she wants to rent it to us because we might only live there six months. I am on egg shells waiting. She has called like ten times drilling us with questions. It’s not like this fancy, smacy place either. It is going to be a long commute for Scott and is freaking ugly and tiny (800sq ft) and we will have to buy a washer/dryer and a microwave AND it is fairly expensive too.  It has a small garage and a yard and is in a really safe neighborhood and that is the only reason we are trying so hard to get it.

I don’t even get the point of this blog post…..I just needed to vent!

The Easter bunny came! Lincoln was actually excited to go to bed and as soon as he woke up he yelled from his bedroom, “Mom! Did the Easter bunny come?”. The Easter bunny left a trail of candy from his bedroom to his basket and he didn’t notice it at all. It worked great for Maverick because he followed the trail while picking up the candy.IMG_4432 Lincoln got legoes. They are his new favorite toy and my newest toy I hate.IMG_4434  IMG_4438 Easter egg hunt. That bunny hid LOTS AND LOTS of eggs and Lincoln and daddy raced to find them.IMG_4440 IMG_4442 IMG_4443 IMG_4445 IMG_4446 IMG_4448 IMG_4456

The Easter bunny also brought us each a water gun! IMG_4491 IMG_4458 IMG_4462 IMG_4464 IMG_4467 IMG_4471 IMG_4472 IMG_4483 IMG_4488

At the end of the day Lincoln asked, “Mom are you the Easter bunny?”

I said “No way!”

He then explained, “I think you are. I think you dressed up like a bunny and put eggs around the house”.

Happy late Easter!

Super Hero Birthday Party

Lincoln is four and that means a BIG celebration with friends!

Lincoln is constantly fighting and pretending to save people and after watching Batman, he chose his party theme.Throwing a Super Hero Party made me SO excited that I have boys!

Birthday InvitationsIMG_4352 IMG_4356

As I was setting up the party, Lincoln kept asking, “Mom, why are you giving me the coolest birthday?”. And I would say, “cause your the best, coolest boy in the world”.

The Party

“Hero Naming” Station: The kids each chose a superhero name and I taped it to their shirts.

For the signs I made them look like little buildings by wrapping recycled cereal boxes, then I used the empty wrapping paper roll and wrapped it with colored streamers. IMG_4494

“Hero Training” station:

“Hero Disguises” station: These capes took forever to make, but as a stay-at-home mom, one thing I have is time. IMG_4548 I sewed around each symbol. I thought about gluing them on, but I really wanted these to last a long time and be a special gift for each kid.
