Is my baby a good baby?

I have had several people ask this question and I want to answer them honestly, but don't know what to say. I hate when people say their baby is the best baby ever, but they have to hold their baby all the time or their baby doesn't sleep through the night, but is extremly happy. So, I will honestly tell you about my baby and you can decide for yourself is he is a good baby.....

Lincoln Sleeping:
Lincoln began sleeping 6-7hrs at night without eating at 5weeks old. He sleeps between 15-17 hrs a day.

Lincoln can cry himself to sleep, I have read that I baby can't cry themselves to sleep until 6 months, but after only 5 minutes of crying Lincoln is out like a rock.

Lincoln has never given me a problem at night. No crying for no reason, no staying awake for no reason (except a couple of nights his first week of life, but my mom was there so I don't count it cause I got to sleep :)haha).

Lincoln is REALLY grumpy when he is sleepy and at first I just thought he was being a cranky baby, but now I bundle him up and lay him in his bed and he literally falls asleep without a fuss.

Lincoln knows his bed time. He will be wide awake and I put him in bed wide awake and he goes to sleep.

however, unlike the happy baby that wakes up and just lays there happy, lincoln grunts and groans and cries as he wakes up and when he is finally awake he is not happy and cries real loud until I get him.

Being good for no reason at all:

About 1-2hrs of the day Lincoln just lays there and stares off into space. He doesn't talk or anything just stares and looks around and looks cute.

He makes really serious faces and I usually just let him take in his surroundings.

This is my favorite time of day cause I can't figure out what is so amazing to him

Cranky Time: From 9:30-10:30

he cries and nothing can stop him except being held

and loved

and walked around

and moved around a lot

Lincoln cries:

yes i admit my baby cries a good hour of the day when he is hungry, sleepy, bored, and sometimes for no reason at all.

i am a bad parent and take pictures of him crying cause i think he is so dang cute and i know i should be comforting him instead of grabbing the camera and snapping a cute shot.

Lincoln eats about 3-3 1/2 hours of the day

this is a very serious time

most babies are happy when they eat, but lincoln is just getting it done

but at least he isn't being cranky or difficult

the rest of the day, Lincoln needs to be kept entertained so we

swing in his swingg
go on stroller rides
play with daddy

and bounce in his bouncer

Overall I think my baby is a good baby, but it's my first. I am going to assume he is REALLY good so when I have my next baby I don't expect that baby to be better. I am just really happy I have a baby that sleeps even though he is pretty grumpy and serious about life.

Lincoln is 1 month old!! Scott's Birthday!! Mother's Day!!

Lincoln is 1 month old
His new Skills and stuff
May 4, his legs are now strong enough to hold himself up
May 7, Lincoln recognizes me and follows me with his eyes. It was so cute, while Scott was feeding Lincoln, Lincoln was staring at me and as I moved he followed me with his eyes.
3 weeks 2 days, follows light without fail for five minutes straight
3 weeks 3 days, babysat for the first time
Only wakes up once during night, this is very good news, he will go five hours without eating and then another four after I feed him. We have him on a pretty strict schedule and it seems to be working.
Continues to roll over from back to belly

Eating is very serious for Lincoln. He grunts the entire time and grabs at his face.

Here is the grumpy eater himself

Eating with his hands on his face

He stretches out his feet and legs and goes really stiff, I think it helps him get more out of the bottle, haha!

Lincoln loves his carrier, so we discovered it works great if we just hang him from a chair. Yea, the chair does the work and we just laugh.

He loves his vibrating chair and he is getting REALLY chubby. Our 1 month baby weighs 8lbs 7oz!!

Scott’s birthday
We ate out at Applebee’s for Scott’s birthday with APX. The next night we had friends over for cake, ice cream, and pizza. Scott got shorts to knock in and a light jacket, and some plates and bowls cause we needed more 

Looking really excited

Mother’s Day
I love being a mother and it is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Lincoln is so much fun and keeps me pretty busy. I could watch him all day; he always does something to make me laugh. I am not going to lie, it is hard though, there is very little time for Scott and I. My life revolves around Lincoln and I am soooo thankful we live in North Carolina. I thought I would get depressed living here, but it has been such a blessing. Every single day I go out with my girlfriends and I haven’t had a moment to even think about getting depressed. We have wives dinners once a week, scrapbooking day, movie night, shopping day, and history day. We also hang out at the pool and talk and talk. I love the people here and have already tried convincing Scott to live here permanently.
