We drove down to Washington to spend three days with Scott's family and surprise them with the news of their first grandchild. The first night we went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant that we eat at every time we visit. The waitor is a really good friend of the families and is full of energy and knows just about every customer. Scott gave him the ultrasound secretly and asked if he would give it to his parents randomly.
After eating for a couple of minutes Scott's grandma asked the waitor if he had any pictures of his recent baby and he pulled out the ultrasoud. Everyone looked at it and then handed it back and congradulated him. Then the waitor said, "No, this baby looks like a Roberts" everyone laughed and thought he was joking. Then he said, "this baby looks like him," and pointed to Scott. Everyone still laughed and didn't seem to be catching on that he was telling the truth. Eventually I popped in and said, "This really is our baby." They all stared at me blankly and didn't believe us until I showed them the name. Everyone was so excited and even Elaine (Scott's mom) shed a few tears.
