These aren’t my favorites. I only like a few of them, but hopefully the next ones will be better.

Hiking and a lil’ bit of Lincoln
I have really been wanting to get into hiking this summer and don’t know what child carriers work best. I have looked online and they range in price of $100-$300. If you have one let me know the positives and negatives of it and what you wish you had or didn’t have.
Anyways…
Scott and I went on a small hike up “R” mountain. I love, love hiking and since we had Lincoln we haven’t gone much. We left around 2:45 and started up the mountain. Lincoln was due for a nap, but as soon as we stepped outside he was happy! We used our old baby carrier that is a little too small, but it worked for this short 2 mile hike.
Lincoln would get really excited and start jumping up and down and laughing.
Just the three of us!
When we got to the top it was pretty windy so we down a little to have our lunch.
When we got back to the car Lincoln sat there smiling at us for half the ride.
and then he was out. When we got home he took a 3 hour nap.. he was so tired, he almost slept through a diaper change. I love how mobile babies are. You can take them to do whatever you want and when you get back they sleep better than ever!
Now that Lincoln is better we have been playing outside a lot. It still is pretty cold so we only go out a few hours a day.
Lincoln took 4 steps at 11 months and a few here and there but he still hasn’t walked much. He is starting to walk back and forth from Scott and I and is actually showing an interest. Maybe he will walk good when his grandma Roberts comes to visit.
I put Lincoln’s crackers outside so he wouldn’t make a mess but he kept bringing them inside and would eat them right in front of the door. So, I put three out there and he grabbed one in each hand and one in his mouth and crawled back inside. Basically, my wood floor don’t stand a chance. I literally sweep like 5 times a day.
Oh my baby is so messy…
Livin’ Like A Redneck
My dad was talking to me about my blog and explained “I am not the redneck, I just got caught in the middle of my dad and my son.” Well I admit his dad and son are rednecks but he certainly is too.
Like father like son, both burning the raked needles and pine cones right in the lawn. I mean why take the 3 minutes to move them in the field when you can burn them on the lawn?
Only a redneck would make a waterfall out of a bathroom shower.
And of course driving the snowmobile on the grass and parking it there..after all

It’s a Lincoln Thing
As a parent of 11 months, I have come to the devastating realization that my child is a lot like other children. Babies smile, laugh, cry, crawl, sit up, walk, stand, jump, make messes, poop, and are all just plain weird. Lincoln laughing and smiling makes him the happiest baby in the world, but the painful truth is babies are happy.
BUT in defense of my child having some unique qualities, that he most likely shares with a million other children, this post is the things Lincoln does that I call “A Lincoln Thing”.
This picture may seem cute, but please look at his right leg. You will notice a diaper hanging out of his pants. I was holding him and noticed he was wet. I sat him down and he immediately began scratching his diaper. He is in fact scratching it in this picture, it is a Lincoln Thing.
Lincoln is taking a bath with his cousins Crew and Cohen. Like good normal babies they are splashing and sitting and playing in the tub. Not Lincoln, he is trying to stand up, and then he will jump backwards and splash. Very stressful for mom who is terrified he is going to drowned himself, but yet again a Lincoln Thing.
Every morning I get ready and Lincoln has to sit up with me on the counter. I put him in the sink to keep him from crawling and he turns on the water and for the remainder of me getting ready, he relaxes in the sink with running water. Another Lincoln Thing.
Lincoln crawled over to his dad and peed on his leg. Haha! Alright, most babies pee on their dads, but Lincoln crawled over to do it. I hope that video works. It never has before.
Lincoln is sick ALL of the time, and I really wish this wasn’t a Lincoln thing. He literally gets some virus every month for at least 2 weeks. He had RSV, double ear infections, 105 degree fever, vomit and diarrhea in this picture. And of course it wouldn’t be Lincoln if he would only stop crying if we put him outside. Yes, I put my deathly ill child OUTSIDE and you would too if you couldn’t get your child to stop crying.
Lincoln loves socks, and this is his favorite pair. He usually carries them around in his mouth. I finally threw them away cause I found out they weren’t Scott’s and so he was chewing on some stranger’s socks….gross!
When Lincoln is mad, I mean really mad, he lays on the ground and cries. He also look like the kid from “Christmas Story” so that is pretty cool too.
Alright he is my Lincoln and that is what makes him so special.

You might be a redneck if…
You can either cry, get mad, or laugh
A couple of days ago I received a text message from my friend Amanda, it read “Heather, what is in front of your parents house?” Well I began thinking of all the stuff that she might be talking about. Then, I began laughing and decided I was going to start my redneck posts. This post is dedicated to two of my best friends Haley and Chantell who both found the laughter in my redneck family.
This picture may seem normal to the average viewer, but when I posted it on my blog a year ago my friend Chantell pointed out my dad playing with his dead deer in the background. I never would have noticed this.
Alright on to the recent stuff.
My brother Ryan, diligently following in his father’s footsteps, has been watching a show called “Axe Men” on T.V. So, he decided to chop down our biggest tree and now it has been sitting in my parents back yard like this.
He then wondered out loud to Scott “If I light the tree on fire do think it will actually burn?”
Scott said “Probably not, but if it does it will burn down the house”
Ryan said, with a tank of gasoline “Only one way to find out!” and they went outside and dumped gasoline on the tree and attempted to light the tree on fire.
Here are a few more pictures
This is the stove that replaced the refrigerator that held our dead deer and elk. I wonder how many years it will sit there for?
My dad likes animals…a lot. This is the food that has been sitting on their back porch for two weeks now
. He left it there for his animal friends. Apparently, they didn’t want it.

A little about my Lincoln:
He is signing! Finally he is catching on and leanring to communicate! A few signs he has done several times:
-Please
-More
-Ball
-Drink
-Eat
-Hungry
-Sorry (pretty sure he is just signing please)
Lincolns favorite sign is please. He does it when I tell him no, when he want more food, when he is hungry, when he wants something, wants to be held, and basically has learned that if he signs please I give him what he wants. He also signs eat a lot and ball which looks like more but he squeezes his fingers. I love that he can tell me what he wants even if it just means crawling to what he wants.
Lincoln is amazing at walking around furniture. He will walk around the living room over and over using the walls, piano, couches, and even me.
Lincoln stands up now all by himself. He is kind of wimpy so he doesn't do it for more than 15 or 20 seconds. He also is great at walking with me holding one of his hands. I don't know if he will walk before his first birthday and I don't really want him to, he is just so fast at crawling and dang cute too!
Lincoln has learned that balls go in hoops and things. So he takes the balls to the bath tub and throws them in. Haha! This is usually when I am taking a bath.
Opening and closing doors and repeatedly slamming them against the wall nearly kills me. I smile cause he is just exploring, but I am so worried about him pinching his fingers!
Falling and sliding on his belly is Lincolns newest way to get attention. He falls and looks at me like "look mom I fell" and then does it again. Oh my gosh I love it!
as for everything else, he is just like other babies, babbling, saying mamamama and dadadadada and eating things off the floor, carrying toys around in his mouth, getting into stuff, dumping out things, and messing up the house! And of course being as cute as ever! We love you Lincoln!
